Application and Information
Interested in joining the Smilin' Happy Scouts on Mackinac ? We invite all Michigan Scouts to apply for this classic project. Troop 127 is currently the only co-ed Scouting America contingent but if we hear of others we will share!
This is a LICENSED camp, operating as a High Adventure extension of Cole Canoe Base. We are inspected and follow the same standards as all other licensed MCC Camps. All our adults are registered leaders in Scouting America, and complete background checks by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We are trained in Youth Protection, Hazardous Weather, and most have completed Woodbadge Training. Our Health Officer is trained in Wilderness First Aid. Other leaders are certified in First Aid and CPR/AED usage.

Application
Our week is July 25 - August 1. Please note, this is different than last year.
2026 MISSP Application (New and Returning Scouts)
All returning scouts must submit an updated application.
Practice Schedule
We will hold two Saturday practices, usually from 10:00 am- 2:00 PM as well as a weekend training campout. We also attempt to avoid big sports finals weekends and Scouts BSA events to the best of our abilities. All practices and the campout are mandatory! We limit our practice times since we have scouts from all over the Lower Peninsula in our contingent, but that means every practice is vital.
Saturday, May 30: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
June Training campout: Friday, June 26 - Sunday June 28
Saturday, July 11: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday practices are at Delta Presbyterian Church.
Camp Fees:
The base fee for the camp is UNCHANGED at $275. New scouts will also need a uniform kit consisting of patches, a neckerchief, and a name tag. In addition a red "coaches" windbreaker jacket is needed. There is a $50 deposit required upon acceptance to hold your spot.
Upon Acceptance
All scouts must submit the Scouting America Annual Health & Medical forms as soon as possible following acceptance.
All Scouts and Adult Leaders accepted to the Honor Guard must have a current Annual Health and Medical form - Parts A, B, & C. Make sure you take this along when you get your yearly physical. Please note, Health Forms are good for one year only. Plan carefully to make sure your form is valid the entire time we are on the Island. YOU DO NOT NEED PART D.
Annual Health & Medical Form, Parts A, B, & C
Each day begins with a uniform inspection. Refer to the Uniform Inspection Sheet to make sure your patches are in the right spot.
