Mackinac Scout Service Camp Info
In addition the boys participate in one Conservation Project which may include painting, litter abatement, or some other similar project. We have daily fun activities for the boys and spend our ample free time exploring all that this beautiful Island has to offer.
Troop 111 has participated since 1972 and we invite all Michigan's Scouts to apply for this classic project. You will get to meet boys from across Lower Michigan and create memories that will last a lifetime.

As Mackinac Island Guides, the Scouts help the Mackinac State Historic Parks by assisting visitors at Island attractions such as the Fort itself, McGulpin, Biddle, and Beaumont Houses and at the Manoogian Museum located in the Old Indian Dormitory.
Every summer since 1929, Michigan Boy Scouts have served The State of Michigan on Mackinac Island. Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops from all over the state take one week shifts from Saturday to Saturday. This service project has two main components.
As members of the Honor Guard, Scouts and their Adult leaders tend 27 flags flown over State property. From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend flags are raised in unison in ceremonial fashion at precisely 9:30 AM. They are similarly retired every evening at 6:30 PM. When you visit Mackinac Island cast your gaze to Fort Mackinac for the best view of this ceremony.
